Function description

As a Dieselelectric Reefer Mechanic, you will:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on diesel‑electric reefer units and temperature control systems.
  • Diagnose technical issues using industry‑standard tools and onboard diagnostic systems.
  • Carry out repairs to engines, refrigeration systems, electrical circuits, and mechanical components.
  • Ensure optimal performance and reliability of cooling units, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and uptime.
  • Provide excellent service to customers at their locations — both scheduled work and on‑call breakdown assistance.
  • Work independently when required, while also supporting your colleagues as part of a cohesive team.
  • Maintain clear documentation of service activities, parts used, and technical findings.
  • Work schedule: Daywork – 08:00 to 16:18 (Monday to Friday)

You will become part of a dynamic field service team specializing in the maintenance and repair of temperature‑controlled logistics equipment — particularly diesel‑electric reefer units used in transport and storage. After thorough internal training, you and your colleagues will be responsible for servicing a diverse range of refrigerated units that support global supply chains. Our team operates with professionalism, pride, and a commitment to quality. You’ll collaborate daily with fellow technicians, planners, and logistics specialists to keep critical cooling systems running efficiently across the Zeebrugge region

Requirements

  • Proven experience in maintaining and repairing temperature controlled logistics equipment
  • Solid technical knowledge of diesel‑electric engines and refrigeration systems
  • Valid Category I refrigeration certification, or willingness to obtain one in the short term
  • A meticulous approach — quality workmanship, strong sense of order, and cleanliness
  • Ability to work independently, with excellent troubleshooting skills
  • A supportive team mindset — helpful, proactive, and flexible
  • Good communication skills and a customer‑oriented attitude
  • Commitment to safety and compliance with technical standards
