Function description

As a production operator and production responsible, your long-term goal is to independently manage the complete production process during your shift. Your tasks include:

  • Learning the production process from raw material to finished product
  • Getting to know the different raw materials and animal feed products
  • Working in the warehouse and helping with practical production tasks during your training
  • Following and determining the correct production sequence
  • Monitoring the automated production process
  • Making sure the correct products are produced and ready for loading on time
  • Following up loading operations so trucks can leave according to schedule
  • Registering and following production information in the ERP system
  • Detecting machine problems and technical faults
  • Thinking along and looking for practical solutions when a machine or installation stops
  • Performing basic first-line interventions where possible
  • Keeping the production process running with as little downtime as possible
  • Helping colleagues with operational tasks when production is busy
  • Occasionally handling or adding bags weighing up to 25 kg
  • Moving between different floors of the production building during the working day

The most important part of this job is understanding the complete process and thinking ahead. The company is looking for someone who notices problems, takes initiative, and does not simply wait for instructions.

Offer

Salary: min €18 per hour
  • Starting salary of €18,00/hour, with growth to approximately €20,00/hour after 2 to 3 months
  • Permanent late shift from 14:00 to 22:00
  • Overtime correctly paid
  • Meal vouchers
  • Extensive internal training — you first learn every part of the production process before receiving more responsibility
  • Varied position combining practical production work, planning, and computer-based process control
  • High level of autonomy once fully trained
  • Stable long-term opportunity in a local production company
  • Direct impact on the daily production and loading process
  • Possibility to have an initial video interview

Organisation

You will work for a stable company in the Beselare region active in the production of animal feed. The production process is largely automated, but good operators remain essential to keep everything running smoothly and to make sure products are ready for transport on time. You will not immediately be expected to control the entire factory — first, you will learn the business from the ground up: the raw materials, products, warehouse, machines, and different production steps.

Requirements

  • You have EU nationality
  • Strong sense of responsibility
  • Technical insight and practical problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently once trained
  • Calm and solution-oriented during breakdowns or busy periods
  • Willing to learn the complete production process before taking full responsibility
  • Physically able to handle bags of up to 25 kg
  • Comfortable regularly using stairs during the working day
  • Comfortable working in a production environment that can be dusty
  • Flexible regarding working hours and production planning
  • Available to work on Saturdays when required
  • Experience with a forklift, Manitou, or telehandler is a strong advantage

What matters is that you are technically minded, physically comfortable with the work and motivated to understand how the entire production process works.
